This site is made possible through grants from the Tennessee Native Plant Society, Kentucky State Nature Preserves, and the National Science Foundation.

Tennessee Native Plant Society. The TNPS has nurtured growing interest in Tennessee's native flora while also working to protect Tennessee’s native plant heritage and preserve it for future generations. The society’s objectives include educating the public about native plants and supporting protection efforts. TNPS believes that a public educated about wildflowers will help to ensure conservation of this irreplaceable resource.

Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves. Kentucky Nature Presenrves botanists, zoologists, land managers, and data managers work with others to protect our natural heritage and educate Kentuckians about its importance.

National Science Foundation. The National Science Foundation contributed funds to add functionality to Kentucky-based searches (NSF #XXXXXX) as well as through direct funding to digitize herbarium specimens in Tennessee and Kentucky (NSF #1410069).  The latter award was part of a larger award to SERNEC, the Southeast Regional Network of Expertise and Collections.
